I hope you will indulge me on this first newsletter and allow me to talk about why I created The Garden Weekly newsletter and what I hope it will become. Finding things to read on the internet is certainly not a problem. Most of us can open Facebook or Twitter and find something to entertain, or perhaps infuriate, us. We can turn on the news and find something to sadden, or perhaps again, infuriate us. It is, however, sometimes difficult to find things to read, listen to, or watch that build us up in our faith (Jude 20). Social media is designed to create anger, fear, or fleeting entertainment, and not to build us up (1 Thessalonians 5:11). The good stuff can be found, but finding it can take time and attention that many of us do not have.
